Careum Dialogue on Health and Education
The CAREUM Foundation organized a two day conference on Health and Education in the Swiss Re Centre for Global Dialogue in Zuerich. It develops The Lancet report on health professionals for a new century further for Europe and tries to find ways how the educational sector can and should work together with the health sector.

Helmut Brand, President ASPHER, was invited to comment on ASPHER activities in this field.

The Association of Schools of Public Health in the European Region (ASPHER) is the key independent European organisation dedicated to strengthening the role of public health by improving education and training of public health professionals for both practice and research.

Founded in 1966, ASPHER has over 90 institutional members located throughout the Member States of the European Union (EU), Council of Europe (CE) and European Region of WHO. It is represented in 41 European countries, with more than 5000 academics employed in its member institutions.
